Such an artistic merry-go-round.
It was a part of my early childhood too--the closest I got to horses in the big city (Chicago). Thanks for the lovely photo reminder.

I like this interpretation of a merry-go-round. Just a close up from the eyes of a child!

Such a beautifully decorated merry-go-round. Doesn't carousel sound so much nicer - thanks Olivier.

There was a lovely hand carved wooden horse carousel in my hometown when I was growing up. Fortunately it has been preserved and is in good working order still. The loving craftsmanship evident is what makes these so special.

A lovely carrousel...it's good to hear that it's still in good condition and still operating. My kids still love to ride a carrousel as do I! You are never too old for this!

Though I rode one of these from the time my Dad first held me on, I don't recall one ever being so elegantly painted and decorated. Just beautiful.

The part is often more interesting than the whole. Superbly shot up close. You can really feel the youth of one's childhood veiwing this.
