Beautiful Arona is empty during the week when only a few discretely wondering tourists enjoy the autumn sun together with the Aronians. It is the season for mushroom (porcini) and chestnut hunting in the woods and hills which surround us. The right season for searching for small restaurants with friends during the weekend after a long walk along the mountain paths , for winetasting in the various wineries of the area and for visiting art exhibitions in the galleries in the towns around the lake. In other words... the good part of life (without closing our eyes to the other part of it).
Have a good weekend!!

I have a feeling you and your wife take advantage of this lovely place for a stroll. This is one of my favorites of yours. I wonder how many times I have said that here???
Sounds perfect.
I hope you have a good weekend too, but how could you not living in such a beautiful place!
Lovely... I wish I could sit on that seat and enjoy the solitude. And then have a delicious dinner that would include some of those delicious wild porcini mushrooms that other people have spent all day looking for!!
I like the tranquil and peaceful look of this place. It's a beautiful place and a beautiful photograph.
This photo makes one want to come over and enjoy a relaxing walk.

Is Laurie correct? Would we see Arona as beautifully as you see it, or are you just one very talented photographer?
I think the answer to both is yes.
Thank you al of you for your comments!! I have been away these last days but am back now to continue our contacts.
A special thank you to you, Virginia, for the wonderful present you gave me in your blog!!! Fountains and Nocturne are a grand combination.
You really have such an incredible array of photographs here; I never cease to be but impressed!
(No sucking up, I just felt that it had to be said...)
Thanks, Kris!! I really appreciate what you said!
I believe even the wordless posts tell more than a thousand words with such lovely imagery attached. It must be a great joy to have your town back to yourself, your dear friends and cozy little meetings.
P.S. To disappoint you, I do not have Dutch roots, nevertheless, my late friend and one of the best people I have known used to call me Viooltje (seems quite odd given the fact my name is Violet ;-) and so did all of the amazing people I have met during my ventures to Eindhoven.
Enjoy the brilliant autumn days!
Violet
