I assume you must have had the heavy rains that you said were coming.

Looks like you had the same rain we did. My goodness that's high water.

You don't, by any chance, have a photo of the same spot at low water, do you? This looks like the bannisters (wrong word) that help one to get out of a swimming pool. But what is the gull perched upon? It looks like it has a notch to take a bathrobe.

I like this one. I like the monochromatic gray, with a bit of red. Seems Arona's got our missing rain.

Thank you, all!!

See my previous post, Julie, and you will see these handrails on the right hand side of the photo.
The small pole on which the seagull is standing serves to tie the rope of a smaller boat/dingy.

I am amazed that one rainfall caused this. Oh my goodness! Glad you had your camera ready!

Thanks for the explanation, was wondering what I was looking at. I also thought it looked like the top of a swimming pool ladder. You really must have had a lot of rain in a short period.

We had nearly one week of heavy rainfall, day and night is this area!! What also causes sudden high levels of water is that in the Swiss part of the lake there are sluices which are opened when the water level there risks to be too high. This has caused sudden heavy floods in Arona in the past.
