Nature: a perfect designer

This little dragon kept quitely on basking in the sun (some days ago) next to me, while I was waiting for the water taxi. I find the details of his skin amazing.
(I will be absent for the whole of next week, attending the London International Wine&Spririts Fair. I will drink to your good health!)

How big is this dragon? Friends who live in the hills above me talk of a 60 cm dragon - it's called, in France, Lezard Ocelle. I'm told it can be very nasty, even bite a small dog. Your lizard looks a similar colour. I've not seen one, just little lizards and geckos which I love - have several that live behind the paintings in the house.

You made a little friend! I used to catch lizards all the time as a kid, can't keep up with them now, lol.

Nature's perfection of color and textures. Wishing you a good trip, enjoy the wine. I hope you try a glass of Valpolicella, our favorite wine.

Thanks for contacting my blog, everyone and for your kind comments! Arona is on Lake Maggiore in Northern Italy, tr3nta. It is about 37 km from the Swiss border. I am still in London and will be posting again next week.

Hello Jilly, this "little" lizzard is effectively very small, not even 20 cm long but in the photo he looks like a crocodile. I like them very much, this one in particular, because he was not afraid.
Thanks for visiting.

Great photograph and comment.

We must think alike. I just posted an Anole shedding his skin the other day and commented on the beautiful design.

I will raise a glass to you also this evening.

Good health,
Troy
