There's an amazing museum of sculptures (modern art but not only) on the coastal part of the City called "Beelden aan Zee" (literally: Sculptures on Sea). The exposing part of the building has entirely been dug into the dunes. Only natural light comes in through parts of the roof and windows giving the sculptures (in bronze, marble, alloy, steel and other materials) an extra touch. From the main windows you just see sand while overlooking the North Sea. Their enormous collection in stunning and is worthwhile a visit. Just take the tram from the city-centre which brings you close to it. Afterwards have a stroll along the windly shore for some really fresh air but try to avoid crowdy July and August.

I try to always visit those who visit my blog and leave a comment.
Thanks for your visit to my blog and for the nice comments you left there about my furry mother.
She was so special to us that we considered her one of our own. She raised four and they thrived. I still miss them.
Your post today is marvelous and the photo of the sculpture is really nice. I don't often appreciate modern art but this seems to be right up my alley.
I like modern art. I wish I could afford such a sculpture.
Thank you, Abraham. It is a real pleasure for the eye and for the soul visiting your blogs!
I totally agree with you, Matthieu!
Your blog has been included in our guide.
Around The World with Daily Photoblogs Old and New is a brief history of the City Daily Photoblog movement and a guide to sites around the world.
The criterion for inclusion here is that photographs mainly from a specific geographical location have been posted at dated intervals, and archives are searchable by date. Although originally arising from the CDPB lists this is an independent publication. Inclusion here does not imply that a blog is officially a CDPB.
Please keep us informed of any changes to your details.
Thank you, Around the world!
