The heatwave

The cool water of a swimming pool, the shadow of overhanging trees and a glass of sparkling white wine, give that luxurious twist to life which I wish to everybody who is going through this already longlasting heatwave.

It looks heavenly.
What happened, did the thermometers get stuck there in Europe?

At our Mediterranean beaches, the water is 29 C. That is almost as hot as the air.
It is a very long summer. But you seem to have found the secret to beating the heat, Diederick. Enjoy!

Thank you for sharing this dreamy moment in this little bit of Eden you've found. Hope the heat wave passes soon.

We had unusually high heat & humidity the beginning of July and it lasted several weeks. How often I wished for a pool and A/C.

I hope everyone enlarges this picture. It's so evocative to me of memories of my youth, in reality and in cinema.

Oh we're melting here and a late afternoon shower, which we needed, turned our city into a sauna! Thanks for the visual relief. So very glad you're back with us!

Just south of Virginia's location we are sweltering here on the Gulf Coast also. Your clear blue water is quite refreshing. Missed your posts and glad you are back!

Sounds like a great plan to beat the heat. Just looking at your photo is refreshing.

We've had a very hot summer so far here in Pennsylvania, especially the last couple weeks. Yesterday we finally got relief after a severe thunderstorm. Now the humidity is gone and the temperatures are much lower. Wishing you the same very soon.
