I could not help but notice the post the other day with the young married couple and a lifetime promise. We, Patty and me, made that promise on July 12, 1955 and we are still here alive on this planet after 54 years of marriage, 5 children and three of them are older than 50. Today is my birthday as you have noted and while I have had my share of health problems I am still so happy to be alive, and can still smell the air and feel the chill in the wind. It is a good life.
Thank you for your visit to my blogs and for the kindness in your comments.
I do like your post today and the morning fog. I also liked the post the other day.
Oh DIederick, I second Petrea's comment. This must be one of your most exquisite photographs. I think you must find a week to add it to that presentation!! This image has started my day off beautifully. Thank you.
I have friends leaving for San Gimignano Italy this morning. Sorry they won't be near your beautiful Arona!

Thank you.
Great photo ... the scene looks so cold and damp - a sign winter is approaching .
so beautiful!
There is such an elegant beauty in this image. Beautiful work.
This is so serene, so calm. I can imagine a man in a black coat sitting on one of the benches and looking out.
It looks like these trees were planted at about the same time just waiting until the lighting and angle were just right for your to photograph.
OH, WOW. I said 'Oh, wow' outloud when I saw your photo. Stunning, cold, stark, and very impressive. Thank you for sharing it.
I love the... natural geometry in this pictures. Couldn't be better.
Wow, autumn has arrived in earnest! No leaves on the trees, fog and a gloomy atmosphere. Great shot!
This is one of your classics, Diederick. Maybe such a photograph is easy for you? To me it's a work of art. Thank you.
"elegant beauty" as brattcat says, describes it perfectly. Looks cold too.
Beautiful mysterious just out of a storybook. That's what I feel when I look at the picture. It's a very pleasant scene!

This is such a telling shot; one can interpret it so many ways.
Certo che ad Arona non mancano le opportunità fotografiche! Bisogna che venga a fare un giro, prima o poi!
