He also seems to enjoy some solitude.
Lovely spot.

I wish I could know what he's thinking, where he was before he came to the beach, where he will go after.

How very civilised to come with such a comfy chair!

I've really enjoyed your latest posts - some are very graphic such as the stairwell and yesterday's iron bars, some really exude summer joy such as the sea views and terrace restaurant!

A nice way to spend an hour or three.

That reminds me of Parisians that found a spot in the parks to sun themselves. Lovely composition here D. I could use every one of you photographs to teach my class in composition. My, you're a master.

Lovely. We don't have an ocean or a beach. We do have wooded areas and fields of pasture. Sometimes in the distance is an old oak tree. That is the spot for me to be. To think. To dream and imagine what was or what could be. What inspiration this photo is to me.

Thank you for visiting my birds blog. I hope someday you can visit my Canon camera photos blog too.

Al igual que por aquí, las playas se vacían de turistas. Para mi, son los mejores días. Muy bien compuesta.

The Riviera is beautiful but so is the lake near Arona that you posted on the 19th.

Now, that looks like a little slice of Paradise!

Interestingly, we watched a TV show last night about a UK couple buying a second home on the Italian Riviera. I was amazed at the incredibly high prices...$1 million US for 1000 sq. ft.!

Yikes.

But it certainly is a beautiful area!

This area is and has always been terribly expensive, Jacob!
The price you quoted is about right, but this is for apartments near the sea.
The city of Sestri Levante and the little towns next to it, like nearby Riva Trigoso has a sea-front composed of 18th Century houses or fisherman's houses, which has been perfectly restored into their original glory with relief paintings and all. The beach where I took the photo of the "sun worshipper" is only 50 meters from the city centre and forms a semi-circle with this type of buildings right on the beach. These are unique spots and very sought after also for investment purposes. Real gold mines even in this harsh period of crisis. Then places like Santa Margherita, Rapallo and famous Portofino are not far away! Climatewise? Ideal for the growth of lemon and orange trees, thanks to the very soft winters. I have lived in that area (Genoa) for 9 years, and I remember walking strolling over the mountains above Portofino in mid-January with short sleeves.
