The summer mansions along the lake are closing...

... as summerholidays are over and children and grandchildren have to go back to school.

Magnifique demeure, lumiere couleur superbe, on dirait presque une maquette
Splendid residence, lumiere superb colour, they would say almost a model

I haven't looked up Arona on a map. What lake are you on?

What a glorious place. How sad they must feel to close the door on the last day of summer.

Looking at this beautiful place, I immediately break that commandment about "coveting." It is so gorgeous! Can't imagine leaving it for any reason!

What a beautiful home! Will it really be closed and unused all winter? Seems a pity...

Thank you all for your kind comments.

Arona is on Lake Maggiore, California Girl, in the very north of Italy, about 70 km northwest of the city of Milan. The whole coast line of the Lake between Arona and Stresa is famous for its unique vegetation and the beautiful mansions. They often open again for Christmas holidays, but usually this kind of owners would have properties also in Montecarlo, Gstaad or Sankt Moritz and in other locations to choose from, to spend weekends and holidays...
Personally speaking I am very happy to live in Arona and spend parts of my holidays also there!

The photos on your blog portray Arona as a beautiful place. It's intriguing to know where Arona is. Sorry I do not know where Arona is? Mind telling me?
