Relief painting

In the centre of Ameno, a small village not far from Arona, high up in the hills above lake Orta, there is this quiet small park surrounded by historical buildings with these magnificent relief paintings.

Number...4

...is not only the number of the women I hold in my heart, because my heart goes also out to all those women who have made and make our life worthwhile and without whom there would be no life. It goes out to all those women who are subject to the most terrible sacrifices and are compelled to suffer these unjustly in silence. I wish the 8th of March were not be the only day on which to remember how precious and necessary women are to us all.

Local street markets...

...are becoming more and more important for people, where - durings these hard times of accentuated econmical crisis - they can often find better bargains than in the shops, especially for clothing.
