Looking at Arona

Last Friday noon people were still sunbathing here with temperatures of 27° Celsius. Today the season is behaving as it should do: it is getting colder.

What a beautiful town. I love the cliff with what I assume is the steeple from a church in the town’s center. Is that were the piazza is located?

Thank you, Evlahos!!

Thank you for your spot on description, Laurie!!

Merçi, Olivier!!

Thank you, Abraham!!

Marcel, on the rock you see in the picture there was once a castle which was destroyed by Napoléon to punish the Aronians for their non-obedience. The road (on the other side of the rock, leads down to the centre of Arona which has two main squares. One is just under the rock, while the other is more central, where the church tower is (the one in my banner).

Thank you, Juana!!

My home is right under the church tower on the left, Virginia!!
My home is unfortunately not overlooking the lake but we are about 50 meters from it.
