You are right, Julie!! This photo, which I forgot to post earlier, was taken in Spring. The small flowers have indeed a very sweet perfume. Our gardens in this area are full of these "climbers". Now they are only green, and will soon loose their leaves. The garden guardian will soon be totally visible.
Very nice one today. The BW was a good choice I agree. Maybe we'll get another look when the leaves drop? By the way, stop by my blog today. I give a little taste of Italy!

this is a great capture
I hope that is a italian Guardian :)
This is one of my favorites of yours. I love it.
Could that be Chinese Star Jasmine? But you are into early autumn. If so, the perfume must be overwhelming.
I like this in B&W - gives the statue a sliver of the limelight.
Such a sensual image: the hard and the soft; the man and the woman.
Thank you, Evlahos!!
Thank you too, Hendrawan, he is Italian!!
Thank you for your comments, Laurie!!

Nice shot. Looks like he is fighting against the hedge to create his path!
He shows up beautifully in B&W; I love the perfume of the star jasmine..

It looks as if he's busting out of a wall of jasmine! Ohhh, I love jasmine! And I love this photo as well!
bien vu, on dirait qu'il va sortir de la foret.
seen, it looks like he will leave the forest.
It does look like he is hiding.
It is such a beautiful image of strength and fragility.
