Ariel

She stopped the car standing in the middle of the road,
skin over bones.
She hopped in and mutual understanding decided
that she would stay.
She is fine now and everybody loves her
but she is very discrete in returning affection.
Her eyes seem to have seen it all...

She's beautiful. I don't know how long you've had her but sometimes affection from scared dog to owner takes time. I too have a rescue dog. And welcome to the Daily Photo family.

Thank you for your kind words, Jilly! The lovely dog in question is with my sister in law who has a great garden with vineyards, where her dogs are happily running around. Just to show you: three of her dogs unfortunately died last year: one at 23, another at 21 and another at 18 years old! (All hunting dogs. It's the love and care with the correct feeding they receive which makes them live that long.

That's a nice and moving story.
I hope you will deserve a lick as a proof of great affection and reward.

Thanks, Matthieu, I can assure you that she is opening up.

Great story. I don't know if you saw the Rhode Island Red Rooster in In my R post from last Wednesday, but it is a similar story. The rooster turned up in our front yard back in the winter. In bad shape. Blind in one eye and one partially lame foot. I herded him to the back yard where there was some bird seed and gave him some water. He has recovered except for the eye, but can he hear. He is the back yard guard chicken. the only problem is that he likes to get up at 5 AM and expects everyone else to do the same.

Thanks for the recent visit.

I really like your blog. I am adding you to my "Check it Out - Favorites" Blog roll. We like nature, photo manipulation, and great photography in general. You have all of these. Fun site.
