The usual courtship tactics...

he...trying to impress her, she...trying to ignore him.
He just stood there with his wings open.
(I had never seen these waterbirds before in this area)

In fact, she also would like to attract his attention, and she might be turning her back on him...? Anyway, it seems not easy to get along well with someone to love... ;9

What happened next?

Did he get the girl, or were his wings too small.

Enchanting....

She dived into the water at one point but not too far away.
He followed her movements from the shore but always with his wings open. There were other female birds next to him but he seemed to concentrate on the one he had set his eyes on. can only hope that all turned ut well for them.
Enjoy your weekend!

They're just like humans in this respect, aren't they?

Oh, what a beautiful love story! Filled with romance, drama and emotions...

Maybe she was a famous, married bird and the paparazzi (you) caught her with her lover. So she had to pretend she doesn't know him and eventually she run away...

:D

Anyway, the shot is very good :)

Like life is !!! This birds are guests at our lake all the year. But now they have problems, water is frozen and they can not fish.
I will have a cormoran-shot for monocrome monday tomorrow.
Thanks for sharing
