Blanket over the lake

After the heatwave at least the temperatures are bearable again.

By the looks of the flag and the water, it appears quite breezy. I'm sure it feels good especially after a heatwave.

Hi from South Shields, nice picture you have here today. I love that sky!

I need your support, see my latest post at South Shields Daily Photo

Photographers rights in the UK and worldwide are under increasing threat and we need to make a stand now!

Unless something changes dramatically, this will be the last ever post at South Shields Daily Photo.

The wind is whipping up the wave and the storm is almost here. The grey is broken by the delightful passenger ferries. Now you said yesterday which lake you were on ... mmmm ... Maggiore? Yes, just went and checked - Lake Maggiore. Is this Lake Maggiore?

Clouds look ominous, but maybe it will pass. Cooler temps are a relief here too.

The cloud blanket over the lake looks menacing to me :( (just my subjective impression; I like after the rain atmosphere, but don't feel the same about before); however, the cooler weather must be refreshing.

I love your Alps series. The last picture is especially astounding!

Relief from the heat can come in so many ways. This looks like I might want a jacket. What beautiful lake is this?

I agree with kalas comment!! great shot.. How hot did it get there.. I know here in Arizona it has gotten to 126 in the Phoenix area!!

It looks so quiet as the cloudy blanket does not seem really frightening to me.
I would dare to assume that no heat wave crosses the Norman peninsula (I suppose that the mean temperature lies around 20 Celsius degrees).

Lovely sky effect. What's a heatwave in your area?

Thank you, Eki!!

This is Lake Maggiore in northern Italy, PJ!! It is where I live.

Thanks for your visit, Carry, Matthieu and Ann!!
What we call a heatwave here is when temperatures rise between 30° at night and 36° Celsius during the day with 75 to 80% humidity day and night. In other areas of Italy temperatures have risen towards 40° Celsius.
