Yes, Julie!! Lake Maggiore has its wells in Switzerland and then flows into Italy. There is only a boat leaving right from Arona to Locarno in Switzerland (and back), but there is no Swiss service like this doing Locarno-Arona (and back). Should you want to do this from Arona, my wife and I would also be pleased to drive you around this area before you would leave for Locarno.

What a fantastic view!
At least the roofs are made of tiles — they age so much better than galvanized iron which just gets rusty.
Lake Maggiore goes up to Switzerland, yes? Is there a ferry that one can take between the two countries?
That's a beautiful view. You make me want to visit Arona...
Thank you, Hilda!!

I love the orange with the blue - opposite sides of the colour spectrum.
Lovely contrast and the textures of the tiles against the lovely blue water is stunning.
Stunning photograph of such a beautiful place. Every photo looks like a postcard-- it must be wonderful to live there.
Wow - you live in a beautiful part of the world. I really like your pictures.
Thank you for leaving a comment on my Sibiu photoblog - much appreciated!
