Windy...

The beach near The Hague has been renewed and the weather is generally improving.
If only the wind would calm down a little...

Oh wow! I've been on such beaches before in Belgium and north of France but I'd forgotten how huge and wide they are. What a great blue sky! But yes, I remember the cool wind too, even in summer...

Nathalie is right, that is a wide beach. Here on our Florida/Alabama Gulf coast, the hurricanes have eaten almost all of our beaches. I am looking forward to seeing more of your vacation photos.

Thanks Magiceye!!

It was great on the beach that day, Nathalie, but so much wind. The seagulls did not fly and stood on the ground with their beaks into the wind, while kite-surfers had their day, racing over the waves.

I have seen that on TV, Virginia. Those hurricanes are really destructive in every sense.
Thanks for visiting!

There is an old saying that if life gives you lemons, make lemonade....In your case, it seems time to by a kite :)

I'l wait till I get grandchildren! They'll have fun with me with the kites.

That looks just like the beach at Rimini in the winter before they put out all those chairs and umbrellas. Why is it European beaches often have such vast expanses of sand?

Thanks, Suzanne!!
As far as Holland is concerned, parts of the country are below sea-level. In some parts near Rotterdam you go through by car, while boats are going over you, which is a very strange feeling. With the future growing sea-level, the Government has decided to enlarge and also increase the level of the land, like they have started doing with the beach-areas and will also continue with the dune-land. If they would'nt do so,in 50 years time parts of the country would seriously be threatened to go under water!
