Art Nouveau

The Hague has many streets where Art Nouveau is magnificently expressed in architecture.

Hello blognote,

Not sure I should just use your screen name or not, but I came to thank you for the visits and comments.

And then I wanted to comment on your Art Nouveau post today. I always liked this period in our history here too but I don't think it has been expressed as well as it might have been.

I like the example you photographed. It has all the glorious details found in that period and on one building.

Patty and I will be celebrating 53 years of marriage on July 12th. Think of it as a long-term relationship.

I have invited bloggers to offer suggestions on a gift for me to give Patty and the list would not be complete without your ideas.

Thank you for your comments, Abraham.
My name is Diederick. Please call me with my real name.
Art Nouveau is very well represented in many buildings and houses in The Hague and offers us its best expressions. I can recommend visits to this city.

Again, many best wishes of future happiness to you and Patty and...I had already left my suggestion for a gift to Patty on your blog.

The white building is most delightful but then again, so is the darker one alongside. I just have one little puzzling thought - how does one get in? I am not able to see a door way and the white windows are up off the footpath.

I just photographed the upper floors, Julie!!
I did not have a wide-angle lens, so I cloose these two upper floors which were more interesting. These are all houses in a row in front of a canal, all with their own characteristics.

Another beauty. I am enjoying your series of lovely homes. Is this one celadon green or is it a reflection perhaps. Like it very much.

I too am an art nouveau lover, starting with some metro entrances in Paris and all things similar. I like the photos you've posted!
