Medieval times
The 11th century castle of Melfi in Basilicata has the most wonderful collection of objects which date back to the 3rd, 4th and 5th century BC. Worthwhile a visit!
Dina's right. The clock and two signs place us in a later century but this castle and the way you've composed it would have looked exactly like this 800 years ago, I think.

I would love to visit the castle!
Everything looks ancient except the clock.

Sure looks old. And I will have to agree with Dina about the clock.
Beautiful photo. Very interesting castle with many interesting details.
