Apart from the lake...

...we also have this at 30 minutes distance from Arona. We went there last saturday at noon for a few hours. Wonderful thick snow, ideal for skiing. Temperatures? About - 3° Celsius. Silence? Yes, total silence! Just the sound of skis sliding over the snow. Unfortunately the snow lasts there for only two, maximum three months, because the area is subject to the influence of the mild lake climate. But all the same...not bad!

Not bad is right!
That sliver of blue sky is like the icing on the cake below.

I love the sound of skis swooshing through the snow. Wonderful place to get in touch with yourself and nature, not to mention a bit of exercise. I'm lucky to have snow near by as well ... glad it stays in the mountains, though and not the city!

What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. I love the silence of a new snowfall.
