Lake gulls, swans, ducks and...boats

The lake found its quietness again towards the evening, after the earlier preparations for a tense territory battle between the lake gulls and the black waterbirds, which was resolved in a peaceful way.

The colors in this photography are perfect. Or the lack of bright colors. It makes the whole picture look serene and like a kind of mystery.

Thanks for your visit and comment.

The gray scale in this image (along with many of your other recent images) balances so beautifully, makes such an understated context for whatever object exists within it. These are just wonderful.

Such a calm and peaceful picture. One would never imagine what almost took place earlier. I wish we all could find peaceful resolve. MB

Nice shot... and the glass-like water's greyness.

We don't have sailboats moored out in the bay, they're in marinas so we don't get these kinds of lovely sights. Sigh.

I love how quiet this photo feels, reflecting the calm before/after the storm.

Like glass.

If we take our hands off, nature has a way of taking care of itself.

Thanks for reminding me! Yes, I remember the voices of the marmots in the Swiss Alps. And once we took a rack and pinion train way up an Alp, and there was a Marmot Park, showing their underground burrows and all.
Rochers-de-Naye, I think it was.
The hyrax make no sound (that I know of, anyway).

This is such a great photo! I think it would work nicely as a jigsaw puzzle - the composition is excellent.

Wow. This one I could definitely live with, probably in the bedroom - so peaceful.
