Strangely this reminds me of a little village here called Laxey. The atmosphere is always doleful but with beuatiful light.

Being so much enclosed by the mountainsm and Lake Maggiore being rather narrow, at least near Arona, kitesurfing would probably be rather dangerous, especially in summer, where there are a lot of motor and sailing boats, Rob!! Years ago I have sone waterskiing there, but you do hardly see that any more, because of this intense traffic on the water.
Skies have been somber until now, Virginia!! Today is the first day with some sunshine and pleasant temperatures again!! I have greeted Jan on your behalf!
