The horse was built by Epeius, master carpenter and pugilist. The Greeks, pretending to desert the war, sailed to the nearby island of Tenedos, leaving behind Sinon, who persuaded the Trojans that the horse was an offering to Athena that would make Troy impregnable. Despite the warnings of Laocoon and Cassandra, the horse was taken inside. That night warriors emerged from it and opened the city’s gates to the returned Greek army. The story is told at length in Book II of the Aeneid and is touched upon in the Odyssey. The term Trojan horse has come to refer to subversion introduced from the outside.<br />The floating Trojan horse on Lake Orta is just for lake swimmers to hold on to when they are tired of swimming.Diederick Wijmanshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14681439137761704999noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7501865401243912595.post-77885618934097936652009-08-21T14:38:29.260+02:002009-08-21T14:38:29.260+02:00very different!very different!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03803472040500529682noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7501865401243912595.post-47116863405745706442009-08-21T14:24:11.954+02:002009-08-21T14:24:11.954+02:00Fantastic!
